New Stroller

After researching for months I finally decided to get The Boy this stroller. It's the Peg Perego Toffee Venezia Stroller. I had it shipped (for free) from the manufacturer to a speciality store in my area that carries strollers. We picked it up today. I absolutely love it. I was torn whether to get a jogger or just a standard stroller. I took a dry run with The Boy to Babies R Us and he just seemed so much more comfy in a regular stroller than a jogger. I am very happy with my decision and high recommend this stroller to anyone. We went to the mall afterwards and it was a breeze cruising around with this stroller. It handles superb. 5 Stars!!!

So The Boy doesn't talk..

Not yet anyway. It's kind of hard though not to compare him to other toddlers on my Mom board. He is 18 months and still--nothing. He babbles. He will say a word or two for about a day and a half but that is it. Nothing that would be considered talking just yet. I kind of told a small fib to the pediatrician when she asked if he can say 2-3 words yet. He does but he doesn't repeat them after 2 or 3 days of first saying them. So technically maybe it wasn't a lie after all. The funny thing is he understands so much of what we say to him. If we say we are going bye-bye he will head to the door. If we say it's tubby time he will run to the tub. If we say it's bedtime he will head for his bedroom.
I am not really too concerned though because The Moody Girl didn't talk either until late. She hasn't stopped talking since.
It is just so hard not to compare him to other kids his age.
I know all kids develop at different rates so that is comforting to know.

Bathing with your child

I always wondered if this was weird or not. I always take a bath with The Boy. It seems so much easier to actually get in there with him. To wash him up and make sure he isn't going to drown because I hold onto him the whole time. He loves it! Clean up seems so much easier. I read a long time ago that one of the best ways to bond with your baby/child is while bathing them. Every time I get in there with him I always wonder if other Mom's do this too. Hmmm. Now if I tried to do this with my daughter--YES that would be REALLY weird : )

Old friend = Good times

Tonight I had dinner at one of my friends house. It felt so good to relive the old times and just be a regular person for the evening. Not a Mom. I haven't actually spent time with friends in a while. It seems we are all busy with our families nowadays. We reminisced about our crazy bar hopping days, about how much fun we used to have.
She is such a good cook. I always used to tell her if she was a guy I would marry her lol. She made chicken cordon blue with angel hair pasta with asparagus. She is also a sahm with two kids. Newly divorced. She keeps a prefect house, decorates beautifully, her house is so clean you could eat off the floors. I envy her. My house is always for the most part clean but mainly surface cleaned.
The Moody Girl and her daughter also had so much fun. The Moody Girl kind of embarrassed me though. She heard me laughing really loud talking to my friend while I was sitting at the table having dessert. She came over and said, "See Mom this is why you should have more friends--I haven't heard you laugh this loud in a long time."

She is too much!

Rain Rain Go Away

So, today was a good day I guess. It's been raining all day here and not a fun way start to the summer. I know it's not officially summer yet but as long as we don't have any snow and the A/C is in the window I consider it summer.
The Boy is starting to get restless with all the rain we are having. He loves being outside. He wants to get out there! He will have to wait because it is going to rain for the next 4 days. Maybe tomorrow I could take him for a ride in the car. Sounds like a rip roaring fun time huh? I am going crazy myself sitting here.
Moody Girl has been doing her school projects since she got off the bus today. She is an awesome student and always gives it 100%. Today she was only fresh once and rolled her eyes at me twice. Grr. If I ever dreamed of doing that at her age there is no doubt I would be punished. Note to self: Grow a backbone. Well, that was my boring day today. I think I will go watch some shows on the DVR now.

I want this watch

I have been watching this watch (no pun intended, lol) on Ebay. I love it. Maybe if the price is right from a legitimate seller I might just have to get it :)

Taylor Hicks. God he was cute back in the day. I just seen these pictures and I think he was very handsome! Wooooooooooooooooo!

Little Brother

Here is a poem my daughter wrote for school about The Boy. She got an A on it for a grade.

Little Brothers

Little Brothers, such a nuisance
Always in your hair
Oh,how hard it is to bear
A little brother.

Little Brothers, you know you love them,
no matter how annoying,
or how destroying,
but you've got to admit,
they are pretty enjoying,
A Little Brother.

Little Brothers, always so fun
no matter how game pieces they eat
their never to hard to beat!

Little Brothers, oh so crazy!
only sometimes helping out,
because their to lazy!

Little Brothers, ever so admiring
always looking up to us,
The Elders

I hate food shopping

UGH! I totally hate food shopping. I really have to prepare myself mentally before I go. It is such a ordeal: drive there, go up and down the aisles aimlessly (no I don't make a list) try to get to the Finish Line (the checkout) before The Boy starts having a meltdown. Pay for the stuff. Load it all into the car. Drive home.Take The Boy out of the car, bring him in the house and settle him in before I can even consider bringing it into the house. Go back to the car to get the food. Take it all out of the car. Carry it all into the house. THEN put it all away. Luckily The Moody Girl always helps me put it away.
